The Raven Sonnet

A journey that began alone on South Beach,
The Raven's Run would have a far reach.
His legendary obsession of 8 miles,
Brought a Miracle, a Taxman and smiles.

 

Nashville, nicknames and numerology,
All a part of Raven's mythology.
Fifteen hundred country songs he has penned,
Johnny Cash and Jennings he would befriend.

 

The man who loves baseball has his own streak,
Like DiMaggio and Ripken, unique.
As a Raven is black and Dodger is blue,
Following Lefebvre and Ryan too.

 

Raven's simple wish, he once wrote to me,
"To Run Long, Run Strong and like me, Run Free."
