Racehorse 'Real Quiet'
Sonnet

The Triple Crown, Horse Racing’s Holy Grail,
‘Affirmed’ the last to claim this heroic tale.
In ’98, a horse named ‘Real Quiet’,
Won at Kentucky, but was not the favorite.

Foaled in Ocala, his mother ‘Really Blue,’
‘Real Quiet’ prevailed at The Preakness, race two.
Onto New York and the Belmont Stakes,
Where many thoroughbreds have suffered heartbreaks.

Baffert the trainer and Desormeaux riding,
‘Real Quiet” ferociously striding and striding.
‘Victory Gallop’ finished first by a nose,
And the legend of the Triple Crown grows.

Next a life breeding in Uruguay and the States,
’Real Quiet’ passed, siring future potential greats.
