Father Brennan Sonnet

Irish born, Robert Brennan left the Auld Sod,

Receiving Holy Orders, calling from God.

Following Fathers Comber and Barry,

Preaching Sacraments, true missionary.

 

Founded parish of Saints Peter and Paul,

Colorful stained glass with white brick walls.

Tower Theater, Gesú served in the past,

Mary Brickell's The Roads had its church, at last.

 

Christmas Eve, roofless, under a full moon,

First Mass special, a school to follow soon.

Learning beneath a Celtic cross with prayer,

Led by the Sisters of St. Joseph, with care.

 

His dream and vision of a church and school he'd build,

Father Brennan's divine mission in Miami fulfilled.
