Capitán

The Captain and his mate prepared in Poole,

They set sail, the winds changed the seas cruel. 

English Channel full of cargo ships to Brest,

The Captain found his way to France, felt blessed.

 

Lisbon to refuel, through Straits into Med,

Spain, South of France, Italy lie ahead.

Captain’s days were long making the boat shine, 

He knew about life. Maps, stars, cheese and wine.

 

Côte d’Azur: Antibes, Caanes, St Tropez,

The Captain could dock there any August day. 

Monaco to Portofino Harbor,

To Isola d’ Elba and no farther. 

 

Most impressive, the Captain kept a promise made in June,

He delivered the boat from factory in England to Cancún.
